Just look how fast you need to be to be pro! I'm never going online on that game.

Guess I'll have to practice a little more for Starcraft 2.

Dammmmmnnn.

Look at his fingers. Can't even see them O_O Most of them are just repeatedly pressing the same action button twice though, I think. Just to get your fingers moving, like in DotA esqe games with moving.

A few friends and I had a discussion about whether soccer or Starcraft was more popular in Korea. I think these kinds of videos prove it is Starcraft.

I'm actually not sure if this is more pathetic than it is amazing. I just don't understand how people would actually devote their time to do useless things such as this, they need to get out more often.  :-\

I think this topic should be renamed to "Carpel tunnel super speed", this video looks like it takes the fun out of games.

People devote their lives to becoming the best at a given thing. Koreans (as well as a lot of other people in other countries) see Starcraft and other games as sports. No one calls football players pathetic because all they do is eat, drink, and sleep football.

Professional SC players on a team also get paid money. I can imagine a lot, considering how popular the game is in Korea as Lingus said.

I thinking devoting time into anything for the soul purpose of being the "best" is all around pathetic; Even football. I don't care how much money they'd get out of it, it doesn't change my opinion. I completely agree with Scotty, as well.

Fair enough... So long as you weren't saying it was pathetic simply because it's video games. Though, I certainly know some people who play video games far too much (like 70 hours a week) and do consider it pathetic. But only because they aren't doing anything with it. They're just wasting their life away. If they were doing it for a purpose, such as competing, or possibly getting into the gaming industry (but even then you need a balance between playing and working)

Well if they like it I don't see how its pathetic. I mean you do what you do to be happy.

As I know playing about 10 hours a day can seem a little unreasonable but there shouldn't be any other reason for saying gamers need lives. Because frankly, like me, I play video games to have fun, relieve stress, relax, and talk to friends. And if this means I should get a life well that's a little crazy, don't you think? Some people do take it a little too far.. No exercise, very little social,  and uncaring. But those people make other gamers look bad haha. Somedays I admit I play until like 2 in the morning, but that's because I'm having such a great time, and that's awesome.

Well is it now? Is is just different opinions on how you want life to be ran? You might think that if it was you but he might feel differently. And he is not you. What makes you happy might not make every one happy. I mean that is how the world is anyway.

Art, did you not notice that I said 70 hours a week? That's almost 2 full time jobs. He stays up all night playing and most of the day. He only sees his friends very occasionally. It's pathetic because he's addicted. It's like a drug for those kinds of people. It affects their life and they waste away into nothing.

I never said I had anything wrong with avid video game playing. A few (3-5) hours a day is fine. So long as you don't neglect other aspects of your life because of the video gaming then there's no problem.

Most of are decisions take place in are option on how to stay alive and not a bigger picture.

When your faced with this question here seeing as this person in question was not flowing society norms (we do this because it works to keep people here and helping) and has a higher chance of not living as long you tried to come up with a way with your know experience to help that other person because instantly you think that will be most beneficial in survival.

Ill agree with you that that's too much but that's only because we share the same views here. And for every one is different. Which cause conflicted. But in the bigger picture things will just happen. Cause, reason, meaning, are just observations of whats going on.

TL:DR Yeah ling your right 70h is way too long. I guess I was just no thinking how long that was. 0_o

I totally get what you're saying. Trust me, I was at that point of playing games all night all day that kind of thing. You can only sustain it for so long. You're either feeding off someone else (ie parents) or you will end up on the streets. In either case it's not a way to live.

But, we're kind of off topic a bit here.
