I went on a spending binge and bought $250 dollars worth of craft beer, many costing in the upwards of $20 a pint sized bottle.  Oh yes, I am partying all the way in to tomorrow with the hope that I can't wake up with a hangover!  ;D

Edit:  In true Scotty fashion.  Alex, take notice:

lmao.

The oatmeal comic was about this, coulda just talked about it there :P
Apparently people are going to lay out their old clothes and shoes outside to make it look like they've been "saved". lol.

The part I'm anxious about: The old geezer's excuse when he fails at predicting the end of the world a second time.

People need to read the Bible more. It clearly says that no man will know when Judgement Day will happen. <.<

Or read it less, especially if you're the type of person that's easily brainwashed.

Anyone else hear that the dude apparently miscalculated(again)?
And now says it's October 21st?

Idk if he actually said that, but that's what someone told me... If it's true, and he fudges up again, I can't believe he'll have any followers left...

Well if you think about it, the bible says man will never know what day the rapture will be.... So if we predict everyday to be the rapture, will it not come at all? ;D

That's assuming God is eventually gonna come.

Seriously must you keep posting something anti-religious every post when no ones listening? I don't impose my religion on you.

Hey, it's easier for me to believe that a higher being created us than it is to believe that we evolved from nothingness. Please don't post anti-religious comments.

We've had this before, with the same people re-hashing the exact same things over and over again, coincidentally having both sides be hypocritical in their attempts at forcefully imposing their thoughts upon the other side while arguing saying that the reason they hate the other person's point of view are the few ignorant ones who impose their thoughts upon others, essentially turning it into a game of "My balls hang lower than yours", until the topic gets locked.

Let it go.

I'm sorry if I offended you, but I'm afraid you jumped the gun on what I was actually implying. The Bible, believe it or not, attracts many people who would rather not think for themselves, hence why Harold Camping has so many followers. This has absolutely nothing to do with thinking that we evolved from nothingness. What if I had been a Muslim, a Deist, a Scientologist, or one of the thousands of other religions that believes in a God? Or are there just two beliefs in your world? Either nothing made everything, or your a Christian! What a tiny and sad view of this world and the universe as well as an extremely dulled understanding of science. Besides, I never stated that your book or religion were wrong, so stop getting all self-righteous and butt hurt.

If you wish to continue, I'd be glad to discuss this further in the "Death... Then what?" topic or through PM.

Well excuse me for attempting to keep another topic from getting locked over something stupid.  Your troll-like attempts at sounding smart with poor grammar and interesting analogies aren't lending a single bit to the conversation, and if anything with further contribute to getting a topic locked.

i wasnt trying to sound smart but i guess my intense knowledge sometimes beffidles peoples minds and makes them think i am trying to sound smart. Also heres a idea guys, if you dont like someones opinion and think their brainwashed christians dont say anything to them. then when you meet someone whos a atheist like you with common interests you become friends and theres no fighting that makes you feel bad.

I was under the presumption that 12/21/2012 is still generally considered the 'big end-all', at least, for those who feel like the world will spontaneously combust or any cataclysmic event of the like.

I think that people misinterpret the end of the Mayan calendar to be the "big end-all", when the Mayans referred to it as the time of change... I haven't actually heard anywhere that the Mayans themselves wrote(or drew) that the world was going to end in 2012

The modern Mayan people(their ancestors) HAVE said that the end of the calendar has nothing to do with a supposed apocalypse, chalking it up to a crazy fad. People pretty much misinterpret everything.

My original post was intended to convey that that was still considered the big 'rapture' date by the loonies who think that one will occur on a date people pull out of their arse.

I'm not jealous in the slightest. I'd rather be poor and homeless than make millions by ruining peoples lives.
