And please quote me, where did I state this:
Quotebut to say it's the only great Mario game, just because Mario gameplay didn't 'evolve'?
This is absolutely pissing me off. Never said such thing =). Refrain from doing this in the future

And it's not me being biased, nor nostalgic for mario64. Mario64 was a WOW for the time it was released at. Mario galaxy was a MEH (probably since it's clouded by other nextgen games)... Again, I'm not saying it's a bad game, but mario64 was a much bigger hit =P
....Wow, that was an epic typo on my part. Meant to slip 3D in there. As in the 'only good 3D Mario game'. I realize now that is not your opinion; my apologies.

Regarding the success of Super Mario Galaxy, you hit the nail on the head. At the time of Super Mario 64, Nintendo didn't have much competition, especially not with a 64-bit system(at least until the Playstation, but whatever). That is probably the only reason. Gamewise, Super Mario Galaxy was excellent, but there were other great games on the market at the time. That doesn't make it a 'meh'. People loved it, still.

What I want to point out, is that mario games SHOULD EVOLVE, and DO EVOLVE, just not as much as they did before. I'm absolutely against making some revolution of mario games. Dunno from what butthole are you drawing those fake claims =/
I don't know where you've been, but the variety of Mario games is much greater than it was in the 90's. In multiple ways, they're evolving more than they used to.
