Building a Computer?

Hey fellow members of Stick-online!

Well, I'm trying to build my own computer setup, but I'm not tech savvy, so I literally have no idea what to do.

I basically need a desktop that is capable of handling anything thrown in it's path smoothly. I'd like it to run games such as GTA4, Black Ops, MW2, BFBC2 without any issues on full setting. I'd like to use it not only for gaming, but primarily for digital illustration and 3D work.

I have a budget of $2,000 (Less would be awesome)

Give me your dream setup to give me an idea as to what to make for mine.

Thanks in advanced.

You could handle those games with ease for closer to 1,000 I would say. I've built my own computer a few times. If your interested, ask Meiun for my msn, and we can discuss it on there. Much easier than via forum.

I agree with Seifer, in fact, you could probably build an insanely good system (ie. run multiple instances of Crysis at max specs) for $1000-1500, depending on where you get your parts and what brand of parts you get.

Oh, that sounds awesome! I'll ask Meiun once he gets online for it, or would you mind PMing me your MSN?  I'm not totally sure what time Meiun would be online.

you should also say whether or not you are a amd guy or intel, as well as what brand processor. because if you want a relatively cheap quad core you might try
AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz Socket AM3 95W $100
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103871&Tpk=AMD%20Athlon%20II%20X4%20640%20Propus%203.0GHz%20Socket%20AM3%2095W

as for some cheap ram you might try a brand that ive had good luck with wintec $42 to $49 or $28 for open box stuff
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=WINTEC+AMPX+4GB+%282+x+2GB%29+240-Pin+DDR3+SDRAM+DDR3+&x=7&y=35

comp case $49

now all this is stuff i bought and since im a budget type of person these arent top of the line. so you wont be able to max out games like crysis 1 but you can put crysis 2 on very high and get around 35 to 40 fps. with a radeon 4770 vid card and 8 gigs of wintec ram, need to upgrade vid card, i can max out modern warefare 2 with 4x aa and 16x af with adaptive anti alias at 1280x 1024 and get around 80 to 91 fps in multiplayer. not sure about the other games you listed.

hope this help
