Wikileaks has blown a gasket

The paragraph that caught my attention was:

QuoteUnlike the cables that WikiLeaks has been publishing piecemeal since last fall, these cables are raw and unredacted, and contain the names of informants and suspected intelligence agents that were blacked out of the official releases. Der Freitag said the documents include the names of suspected agents in Israel, Jordan, Iran and Afghanistan, and noted that interested parties?such as the Iranian government or intelligence agencies?could have already discovered and decrypted the file to uncover the names of informants.

If this assumption is true, and the wrong governments see it, there are some people in serious danger.  For those who think I'm over-exaggerating, look what happened when Aldrich Ames did something similar but on a larger and more devastating scale: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldrich_Ames#Arrest

Specifically the last paragraph under the arrest section:

QuoteIn court, Ames admitted that he had compromised "virtually all Soviet agents of the CIA and other American and foreign services known to me" and had provided the USSR and Russia with a "huge quantity of information on United States foreign, defense and security policies."[33] It is estimated that information Ames provided to the Soviets led to the compromise of at least a hundred U.S. intelligence operations and to the execution of at least ten U.S. sources.

Whoever is behind this stuff is seriously pissing me off, as it directly affects my job as well.  I seriously hope they find whoever is doing this and burn them to the ground.

So what exactly does this mean? I get that it leaks the people's information and get them killed...But who exactly wants them dead, and for what reasons? I get that this is very bad, but I'm rather ignorant on the subject.

I doubt that whoever the dumbasses are that are doing this are wanting people dead, I think it's more of a ignorant act on their part, where they don't think to filter through the extremely sensitive stuff before sending it off to Wikileaks.  I don't know if there's any money being exchanged, or what the motivation is other than to try and get a shock out of people, but this crosses a line.

Yes it does, I personally was fine with the video released of the US attack or whatever, (if only they hadn't "poisoned the well" beforehand) But some of the stuff they've done is not keeping a government "open" which I'm behind; it's killing people. Plan and simple. There is a difference between keeping people informed, and trying to just !@#$ around and get on the news.
