Can somone get on and help me kill some monsters because i am the only one on thanks!

Mr Pwnage

For !@#$s sake...a forum isn't used like that. If you want some help...make some friends and communicate them by means of a shoutbox, private message, or hell use a 3rd party program like msn for things like this. Never make posts on a forum if all you are asking is for somebody to play with. >.> Or hell, scratch all of what I said and just be patient...people will come on.

Uhhh, pretty sure you don't make the rules or policies here Pwnage. I actually don't have much of an issue with people making posts like these as long as they don't get whiny, out of hand, or there doesn't become too many of them.

Scotty

Hey Meiun, I think you found your perfect public relations officer!  I can't think of a better person for the job!  Great way to promote Stick Online Pwnage, real classy!

Torch

Whew, Pwnage is getting a lot of hate for his post. It seems weird to me also to make a topic just to ask people to log in to Stick Online. I also suggest trying some of the alternatives that Pwnage listed.

Scotty

It would be a shot in the foot to not promote team play in a game that's quite frankly dull with only one person playing.  Consider how many different mediums one has to utilize with the game in order to get others online to play with them.  They have a forum, and chat tool.  That's it.  Now of those two, how much are each used?  The chat, while ideal, has almost no hits a day (likely averages less than a person a day), and a forum, where most of the community resides and posts within.  I would put money down that if I posted a request to play in the game, in the chat room, it would take 1+ days to get a view/response, at which point, any person would give up and move on to other games or whatever.

So with that in mind, what do you imagine would be the most productive route in trying to organize a game meetup?

EDIT: Now if we wanted a shoutbox, which is even more ideal, I know the idea was shot down because the specific mod selected was rather flaky with it's auto-refresh, I'd go with nneonneo's shoutbox.  I've used it with great success, as well as have testimonies of other's success stories with it as well.  Is this viable Meiun?

Meiun

I'll look into it Scott. But yeah, in the current state of the game and forums I really don't mind an occasional post like this. It's intentions are good, i doesn't blatantly violate any rules (written or implied), and if you don't personally like a certain kind of post then just don't view them. I've always felt that having Nazi forum moderators who close topics and punish people for insignificant things (GMC for instance) tend to cause more harm then good, and  also detract from the overall sense of community. Either way, I don't feel it would serve any significant purpose to debate this further, so please try and keep any further posts in this thread on topic.

Mr Pwnage

@Meiun
Okay that's fine, I just recall different feelings toward topics as such in the past which is why I brought it up to begin with.

@Scott
I don't see what this topic has to do with promoting Stick Online anyways...especially because this person's played before.

And also...regarding the shoutbox. The current shoutbox functions great don't get me wrong, but I believe the reason it is hardly ever used is due to the fact it is rather hidden. Obviously this topic is something that you'd post in the shoutbox and not make a topic for...but the problem with that is that nobody checks the shoutbox because it isn't embedded as part of the homepage. I am not sure what kind of shoutbox Scotty suggested and if it does just that or not...but I think if that the shoutbox were embedded into the homepage would work much better towards it's purpose. Basically like what we used to have on Stick Hangout.
