Learn well youngins', this man is a genius!  This is how you keep your job.

Lingus

I'm guessing you mean the Noah guy was the genius?

Dear god what a convoluted method... My brain broke slightly looking at that.

There's one thing about job security: It's not worth it if your job is mind numbingly ridiculous such as "adding more days" following this method. I don't care if I thought that up just so I would be the "go to guy" for this kind of nonsense. I would quit after two days.

My method of job security is to do my job so well and so efficiently that I've proven I am worth the money. Though, it's a bit different for me because I'm proving to clients rather than a boss. But yea, in this case this Peter guy looks like the Hero now because the guy before him now looks like he was just an idiot (which regardless of whether he knew what he was doing or not, he is). It's my opinion that it's better to be Peter than Noah.

Damn right. Gotta take advantage of retarded employers.

Job security for me is running an application for over 100k customers on three different VPN's, where other applications of less problems have teams, I am a one man team.  They fire me, they got no one to fill in my spot, and no one who WANTS to fill my spot!  It's funny when my team lead stops by and asks me "What do you have on your plate today?" Every time I respond with pointing my finger at the white board on the wall, which is three solid columns of tasks (commonly problems with the application that I'm working on), and he just looks at me with that "I knew you were gonna do that!" look.

I mean, who else could stand 55-60 hour work weeks with plenty of 3AM calls without quitting due to "stress"?  Hell, this shit is cake compared to the hours I put in while I was in Iraq!  I've yet to see anyone in my office work 7 days a week (for 7 months) clocking over 100+ hours a week!  BRING IT BITCHES!
