Alright. Courtesy of Torch, I've learned that this would be the correct location on the site to post this ^^. But it might be against the rules to post 2 of the same topics so this is one is gonna be very different.

When I couldn't play my favorite game (Stick Online) I was forced to move my hobbies to other games. I've played several but I went pro in a little game called Stepmania. I got so hooked to it, I still play even though stick online is back. It started with FFR and song I fell in love with (Dark Dialga Remix) happened to have a DDR file that I thought I could beat, even though I've never played those kind of games before. So I failed on the first try. I decided to hone my skill at it till could (and I did eventually beat it #1 on highscores).

The site that had that stepfile is down, along with the file itself. However they managed to get the original game and forums back up... I'll provide a link for that site later down on this post. I think we can relate to their members, seeing as Stick online has had it's share of going down in the past for one reason or another.

When that site when down I moved onto Stepmania. It's a program one can run on their PC. Songs and stepfiles can be downloaded or created it with it, and no just that, Stepmania itself is a Game Making engine for these sort of games. Think of it like MUGEN, except for DDR and Guitar hero style stuff.

I am making this as a thread for the games mentioned in the title. I will provide a link for the site you can get stepmania, the remains of FFR's site (Flash Flash Revolution), and videos that simply blow your mind away (uber stepfiles being cleared).

I've never played DDR, and I don't intend to anytime soon. I am not an active person myself. I really only bothered with STepmania and FFR.

The following link will take you to stepmania's site. There you can download stepmania as well as a lot of songs:

If you are looking for a specific song or have a song request DO NOT post it in this thread. Instead post it in that site's forum in the requests section. This thread is to talk and about the games and songs and share videos if you're in the mood.

Here is FFR's site, at least whatever's left of it. They are trying to get it back up. Unfortunately the simfile database is gone...

Enjoy my friends. My next post will be a post providing links to some awesome stepfiles and videos of people doing some uber stuff on these games. It will editted each time so that I don't have to make a new reply each time I wanna show you a video.

I'd aslo like it if whenever you guys post a video, to edit that post for the next video. However if it is to reply to some1 else's comments make a new reply. (this is to hopefuly save space and make it easier to navigate the thread and avoid some confusions.)

Okay this post will be what I use to post my videos. So whenever I find a good video for this thread, I'll post it here by editing this post.

This first one isn't a stepfile (it has one, mind you, but the uber one I tried to beat on my first try is incomplete and therefore you can't here the whole song), but it's more a of a tribute to the song that got me to start playing it in the first place. If I could describe it with one word it would be "EPIC!!!". It's my favorite song still. Primal/Dark Dialga Remix by Pokeremixstudio, length ~6:24.

This vid, is some1 who goes by the name, Cosmic Pope, beating the song Vertex Beta. No it's not faked, it's not that hard of a song to beat. I've beaten the song on stepmania myself (of coarse I was using a keyboard). Cosmic pope has a lot of videos of him beating some rather uber songs on DDR, and he happens to have some of the higher scores. So we'll be seeing more videos from him. The song Vertex Beta is one song in the series "Vertex" by DJsilvia (note vertex Delta is my favorite song of the series ^^).

Another Cosmic Pope video, this time you can see his feet. The song: Soldiers of the Wasteland by DRAGONFORCE (LOL). It's a 10 minute marathon. Try not soil yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsioJILnqQU

Ah vertex Delta. The stepfile is epic. The guy playing I dunno who he is but his combo is OVER 9000!!!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTO08ihSjP8

Maybe the stuff is more impressive when you play it but all I have to say is it looks like the guy is spazing out a lot.

Lol, at our State Fair last year (I live in MN) there was a guy at the arcade totally getting into DDR. He looked like he'd just run a marathon and had a guy standing by him with a bottle of water and a towel, presumably his coach or something. Seriously, a DDR coach.

ZOMG u were at our state fair??? Creeper!! (lol i jk)
But yeah, people are intense when playing DDR, I used to play it allll the time. It was good fun until I got bored of the songs after a while... I did try playing FFR too, because they've got some epic songs on there, but their rating system was off. there were some "easy" songs that weren't easy when I could go play other songs on hard and do just fine...
FFR is way easier then DDR though, because I use 4 fingers for FFR and you only got 2 feet for DDR.

Maybe I'll play DDR again someday... good times, good times.
