I think the touch screen only picks up certain items and textures. I tried a DS stylus and it didn't work. :(

Wow, so I was looking at the people I'm watching on DeviantArt, and there's one who's using the exact thing as LingLing; iPad2, sketchbook pro, finger painting. And look at what she made: http://zhuzhu.deviantart.com/art/Procreate-update-213511078

I'm actually still using the Bamboo Paper app. You can't do that kind of stuff with it. But yea, the Sketchbook app is extremely full featured. Amazing that they can do that with just their finger though.

The stylus has to act like a fingertip. It's usually a rubber or foam tip, but I've also seen cloth. A regular stylus doesn't work on the capacitive touchscreen which was designed to register a finger.
