tl;dr: Meiun has a real job, game not nearly complete, the game will never be dropped, he thinks he sucks at writing forum posts so he likes to work more on the actual game than spending lots of time doing status updates.
Blocks of text, ftw.

there is no need for tl;dr, because it was Meiun, who wrote that wall of text :P

Meiun, we're all behind you. I know you'll have a loyal group of followers eagerly awaiting V3 even if it's 5 years from now.

I appreciate the support everyone. There will come a time when I will likely start giving some more larger reveals as well. But based on how we have been going about things so far, a lot of what I work on the most is more back end and engine related things. AKA Laying down the coding groundwork to be able to later add in all the features and content that actually make it into a full and complete game. While much of the ground work has already been lain for us to be able to pile in the content once the time comes, and a bunch of that content is all sprited and ready to go, it will likely not be until a bit further down through the development cycle that actually implementing lots of it becomes a priority.

An example of this is with the level editor I discussed in the sneak peak topic. This editor is fully functional and makes it extremely easy to add new areas to the game, but that's not to say all the game world has actually been built with it yet. So I can't exactly show you tons in regards to meaningful screenshots of the world (as one example), as a lot of the current game world will likely be replaced/scrapped with better ones further down the road.

The main reason I mention this is because while the current approach does leave a lot of what really turns an engine into a full featured game until the end, it also makes it so that once that content does start to come in, it should come relatively quick (key work being relatively).

Most recently I have been focusing most heavily on the database stuff for the game, and all that will be related to that, such as accounts (among many other things). The older Stick Online games just used a standard flat file setup for accounts, but V3 will of course use a vastly superior and more powerful SQL Server setup.

Meiun, I just want to say some things.
Thank you for what you have done for this community.
I am happy you got a full time job and that your done with college. Also, that you have a girlfriend. I understand that you have to be "hanging" with your family, friends, and girlfriend. I know you have been working hard at everything you have been doing. Just keep doing it, for we (the community) are behind you!:) All this stuff will pay off in the end!
I know SOv3 is going to be a blast. It might take awhile but oh well. Patience is virtue.
I hope you have a good time with your life :) and I will be waiting for SOv3 :)

P.S. Thank you again! Don't give up :) I know you won't!

I've been playing this game since I was in the 4th-5th grade, and I am almost out of highschool now. I have never stopped enjoying the game, and I'll 'stick' with it for hopefully many years down the road. :)
