So i was just browsing around the suggestions/idea topic, until i came about the topic about PMing ingame.  So i thought to myself, "this would be alot easier with a friends list.  I don't know if this has been suggested yet though, i tried looking in the "Please Read This First" pinned topic and didn't find anything.  So whaddya think? Yes? No? Maybe?

IT been Suggested before alot but proberly not in this forum the OTHER stick online forum i guess
Meiun Would probarly put this in S03  :-\ But it isn't much needed Well i guess

LeGuy

Definitely. Meiun obviously doesn't have a problem with showing the online population (there have been "who's online?" lists in previous websites) so I think it would be really easy to program a list of friends that shows who's online.

Furthermore, this could tie in with the cell phone concept I suggested in a different topic - if you're in a no-service zone, you can't send or receive friend data.

We already have this.

1. Download MSN.
2. Get a Windows Live ID.
3. Log into MSN.
4. Ask friends on SO for their MSN.
5. Add their info on MSN.
6. Talk to them on MSN whilst playing SO.

Good idea! And while we're at it, why not remove local ingame chat too? All you have to do is invite all of the people in the area to a conversation. Besides, if the other players don't have or dislike MSN, then they're obviously not cool enough to bother talking to, right?

I'd like it to alert you if one of your 'friends' logged in or out.

Are you moronic? This is for talking to friends when they're on a different end of the SO world. If I and a friend of mine are at totally different spots but still wanna talk, that's where MSN comes in. No need to make an ingame PM thing.

But if you expect me to add every single one of you on MSN, then think again. Local chat is merely a way to make smalltalk with others around you whilst you all bash in the heads of various enemies.

Uhh Snakeman, I think you are being the moron in this situation considering you weren't able to see he was clearly being sarcastic. I expect better of a troll like you Snakeman! Your point that you should just use MSN is stupid; I'm not going to add every person I meet on Stick Online to MSN so I can chat with them when they are on the opposite end of the world. Rather, it'd be much easier if you could do it ingame in the first place, rather than using a 3rd party program (especially not one everyone has or can use)... Why should we have to use MSN, when it could just as easily be added to the game? All other games have it for this reason, so why not?

Snakeman-

I do apologize for confusing you. While it may not have been apparent, I employed the use of a linguistic concept generally known as sarcasm in my post. The idea is to shape sentences and choose words in a manner that discreetly implies that the speaker inwardly means the opposite of what he is saying.

To get the point, while in my post I said that your MSN alternative to in-game long distance chat was brilliant and should be expanded to all aspects of chat in Stick Online, I, in fact, meant the exact opposite. In reality, my true opinion is that MSN is not a sufficient solution to the problem posed by not having long distance chat. My continuation of the idea, that local chat should too be replaced by MSN, was another instance of sarcasm that I hoped would point out the impracticality of your suggestion by showing how ingame chat is a vital part of a competent MMO.

I offer my sincerest apologies for confusing you, and I hope that this explanation has been of some use.
