Its all about location. There are areas in big cities that don't get any robberies, and places in small towns that have a robbery every week. For the most part it doesn't really matter how populated the area is.
Jesus would know all about the subject.  :D

Also Seifer, you'd be surprised. My town is pretty small and we had a few bank robberies awhile back, along with a homicide.

Yea I live in a small town in kentucky and almost everyday there are peoples houses broken into and only about 10 local police men.

But I am sorry to hear about your situation and hope everything works out.

Define small than?

And well, maybe that is America for you. Where I live, we honestly have zero robberies.

I really think this is a general condition of the world. There are good areas and bad areas no matter where you go. If you try to tell me Canada doesn't have this, I wouldn't really believe you. Just because your town is relatively safe doesn't mean it's representative of all your country.

i know what you mean, i live in a relatively safe part of Australia, robberies and such arent very common, the worst thing thats happened lately was a few tires getting slashed. But there are parts around australia (coughBlacktowncough) that are full of robberies, muggers, drug dealers etc.

In response to the Canada thing Lingus. We have such a low crime rate that we have to report crimes from the USA in our news in order to keep it interesting.

We also have a much smaller population. The greater the population, the more crime occurs. As a percentage, it's probably similar. There are numerous areas in Toronto that are straight-up unsafe to be in.

Yeah, here in British Columbia, I live not to far away from the ghetto part of town, and it's not nice over there, not one bit. But yeah I guess what I'm trying to say is that everywhere has it's flaw, whether those flaws be minor or major. *And maybe we should get back on topic and discuss Meiun's situation rather then our own*

I'm happy to hear that things are getting better, hope you, your girlfriend and her roommates will recover fully.  :) I remember getting about 50 CDs stolen from me, it sucked. Not as bad, I know, just saying. Never found them either.

As long as people don't go posting completely random things, it's okay. Our situations, while probably nowhere near as bad as Meiun and Bella's, are related to the topic at hand. Topics evolving into more interesting discussions are fine too.

Just thought I'd let you all know that I have managed to get myself a replacement laptop, and should now be able to be back on more. However, due to the fact that my family is currently in the process of building a new house, I'm going to have to take a trip to dig through all of our storage of stuff from our old house in order to find my old computers backup that had all my programming stuff, etc. Either way this is probably gonna set me back a bit, seeing as I didn't have it with me to back stuff up for a few weeks prior to when my comp was stolen. Hopefully I'll manage to find it in the next day or so. Thanks again for all the support!

As for my hometown, it's populartion isn't "middle of nowheres" low, but it's still down there a ways. But regardless, it is definitely about as safe a place as you can get. Can't remember the last time I heard of anything like a break in or other serious crime here. Where I was spending most of my summer however, is both a very different story, and quite far away.

I would think that Robbies happen all over the world. Even in very small Cities up to the Big Cities, and I'm very sorry to hear about that. :(
