And all 250,000 put together would not have nearly as much of an effect on Forum's life as the dog would.

That's because I hate people...

Man's best friend on the other hand...

Too bad it's his cat that passed away...

Chaos

lol, wow guys.  Way to read.

Sorry to hear that, Forum.  I know how upset I would be if something were to happen to my (sister's) dog.  Did it just up and die, or were there problems?  Clearly it wasn't of old age, at 6 months... :x

lol, I found God! He was hiding under a big rock this entire time that lil jokster

Mr Pwnage

Yeah...pets dying really sucks.

A year back from now, my cat Onyx died. She was really old, like 19. Anyways, we dug a hole outside to bury her, and had a single candle next to the hole while my younger siblings said prayers...my little brother accidentally knocked the candle into the hole and the blanket the pet was wrapped in caught fire fast....it was apparently a really flammable blanket. But we essentially cremated Onyx. Sounds funny now, but everyone was really upset.

But yeah, sorry for your loss.

Mystery

Sorry for your loss, Forum. I had a similar things happen to one of my kittens, but she died from cancer. I don't know WHY your parents didn't take it to the vet, but if it was something less potent than that, they may have been able to stop it. I don't know if they had their reasons or not, but...  :-X

Delicious

I can't imagine what you would be going through if you cared for your cat as much as I do with mine. I don't know what I'd do without mine since he is also one of my best friends (Yes, go ahead and laugh; but I'm serious). Rest in piece, Willa.

Losing a pet is never easy, like Chaos mentioned, I would also be heartbroken if my sister's dog died :(
Anyways, maybe they didn't have the money to take it to a vet? I dunno... Vet bills aren't cheap, my boyfriend's dog has hip dysplasia(sp?) and he's spent like $4,000 on vet bills and for his medication.
Anyways, sorry for the loss of your kitty :<

One of my cats recently passed away as well. He was around 12 so he wasn't a kitten. In fact, that's getting on in age for a cat. So it wasn't entirely unexpected. He was sick for a little while, but it came on pretty quickly. We took him to several vets and spent a decent amount on visits and medication and treatments. In the end, all of the vets (independently) said that they thought he had a brain tumor. The only option would have been a very costly MRI, and an extremely (like 5-30 thousand dollar) surgery which may have resulted in him not surviving anyways. We basically had to make sure he was comfortable for the time he had left and eventually his condition became so bad that we had no choice but to put him down.

Btw, I do believe that it is illegal to bury a pet. You really should take it in to be cremated. There are plenty of services that do this. Just take it in to your vet. You can also have them individually cremated and get an urn of sorts if you want to keep it.

Losing a pet is really difficult. I know this all too well. If you believe in these things, your kitten is in a better place now. Even if you don't, try to remember him/her for the good times. All of the crazy little things that I'm certain your kitty did (because all cats are crazy in their own ways). The things that made you laugh.
