SO v2 public

i was thinking i have the money to pay to keep the server up so it does not have to be donors only. and i would be glad to pay it for sov2 to be public.

i just want to see so full of people playing and having fun like it use to be and make it easyer to lvl cuz people are on.

im you think this is a good idea please post and i am going to talk to dustin about it.

Havok, that's very kind of you, and I'm sure Meiun and the SO team appreciate the thought, but money wasn't why Stick Online V2 was shut down. The time and effort that has to be devoted to running a server, and dealing with the population of it, inevitably slows down the process of creating new content. Stick Online V2 is no longer under development, and as such, it's no longer publicly available.

If you have extra money and would really enjoy helping the server become more active, you could perhaps donate for those who cannot. I know there's a good handful of people who would appreciate it.

The same thing goes for Stick Online V3, money is not an issue. As has been said numerously, this game is a hobby of the SO team, not a job, and as such progress will be slow. Just be patient. That being said, any and all donations are obviously greatly appreciated.

i understand that and sov2 does not need any updates to go public does it it can sty the same as it is till they get v3 up and ready :P and i would love to help donate for people but i am not going to hand pick people out thats not far to the others i would rether see it go public for them all idk i would like dustins thoughts on this :P

Lucifer pretty much summed it up perfectly. Even without updating things, it still becomes a lot more work dealing with all the players, moderating, and other management responsibilities. Yes there are some possible ways to help with each of those things, but none that don't require additional work in one way or another. Even getting more GM's to help can require a significant amount of work in teaching them and ensuring they do their job properly. I already end up with much less time than I'd like that I am able to devote towards any V3 stuff lately anyways (with me finishing up my college degree and all), so doing something like this (unfortunately) really wouldn't help. I also just don't think I'd feel comfortable allowing someone else to pay for something that significant like that.

I do really appreciate the offer though, so thanks! It is generous fans and supporters such as yourself that have made this community as strong it is.

Even getting more GM's to help can require a significant amount of work in teaching them and ensuring they do their job properly.
