From the folks over at Bay 12 Games, I present to you: Liberal Crime Squad, a fantastic text-based game with an unimaginable amount of replay value and approaches to playing.

The goal is to ultimately turn the country as Liberal as possible(this isn't serving any crazy hidden agendas or nonsense like that, it pokes fun at both sides and pretty much everything inside it), by whatever means possible. It's open source and free, and a very good time-waster. It IS rather difficult and strategic, not quite to the degree of Dwarf Fortress, but still very much so, especially since the only partial guide to the game(not including looking hard at the forums) is largely incomplete and outdated. Still, definitely worth several playthroughs/attempts, if not just one when you have the time.
