Game Maker 8.1 So many problems

PLEASE HELP!!!!!! I HAVE SPENT OVER 5 MONTHS SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR GRAVITY CODES FOR GAMEMAKER!!!! none of them work. Heres a list of the gravity prblems:
Character Walks in mid-air
Infinite Jump.
Falling through ground.
Stays in jump position when hits ground.

And here are some problems with running! (I think it might be the gravity/running sprite.)
Not Moving
Hovers 2 ft when running.
When I hold the Left + Right arrow keys he starts moonwalking.
Falling Through ground when stopping.

It's not that I'm a bad coder, it's just that I'm a REALLY bad coder! Meiun wont give me his movement codes for Stick Online for some reason! Meiuns coding is perfect.
If anyone knows a code that they have tested with a character that has "2 DIFFERENT RUNNING SPRITES" For walking and jumping/gravity PLEASE TELL ME!!!!!!!!
And Meiun if you're reading this just PM me the movement code for running and gravity!!!!!

If you make the setting of your game in space you have no more problems.
