Athulil feels intense force as water tries to push him back out of the lake. Athulil sets Warclip to Grapple Mode and shoots the hook to the bottom of the lake. The hook is repeled back up and Athulil is launched out of the water.

Several parts of the rune just fizz out at this point, and the rest of it attempts to carry out the root magical function it was designed for, which had already taken place.

The Gauntlet flashes light purple and turns into a material called 'Goldum'. Whatever that means.

Albert chokes on water, but somehow the energy flow from the rune seems to be keeping him alive... (-4 HP)

..however, something else is awry.

Perhaps, very soon, he would finally be expelled from the lake.

...As there is a human being in the way of the main recipient of the rune spell's effects, the final stage of the rune's activation can't be carried out. The magic attempts to correct this in as simple a way as possible.

All of the raw earth materials in Albert's inventory are extracted by energy tendrils, flow around him and are absorbed into him irregularly with the power of the Materia Gauntlet. This causes his pain to grow even more intense.

As now the being in the way of the recipient has either been transformed into earthy bones or earthy material itself, the rune carries out its own magic- a corrupted version of the Ritual of Healing intended for Athulil!!
