CC is almost over so idk why i'm posting this late but w/e.

My season was ruined to shin splints in my lower left leg  >:(. I was running down a hill and someone stopped so i had to stop and i felt a crackling pain in my leg because of it.. For 3 weeks everytime i tried running i was limping and everytime i walked it still hurt. I put ice on it every day and got semi frostbite on it, i want to run so bad. Now a month gone by its like 70% healed i can do most of the warmup stretches again.

Also i only managed to run in the first race of the season which i got 13/100 something and could have made it in top 10 if i didn't have this injury :(. I guess 13 is unlucky

i'm sure tons of horrible events have happened to you without any relation to 13. you're caught up in a confirmation bias son.

anyways its not the end of the world just wait and do it next year. not worth permanently injuring yourself trying to push too hard. i've known people who have ignored injuries to compete in sports and it ended up requiring further surgery / time out from the sport than if they had just waited for it to heal.

Why can't you stretch and ice your leg I understand but when I was in track I got a few of them. If you take a week or so off its not that bad. And it should be fine. Ps tapping before you run with it will help.

I tried to take up running a couple months ago, I guess I got a little too enthusiastic and ended up with shin splints in both legs and they lasted forever. Finally got better, then my leg got run over by a trailer yesterday.

Got em all the time in gymnastics, and coaches considered them so minor we still had to work out like that. :/
But yea, taping them is probably the only thing that helped any. Icing made them feel more sore to me, but then I also wasn't taking time off from practice/meets to let them heal.

Same lol I didn't know they could be bad like you said I always just taped went to track then baseball then mma practice.

If you truly want to try taping it and try running.

Just use pre-tape and then athletic/sports tape? Time to prepare for track season!

Like this kind of taping?

Yup. I also had these soft ankle braces that I wore, which helped a bit too. Idk how they'd feel with shoes on though or if they're even fit in a shoe. lol. Or one of those wraps you use for a sprained ankle might work too(forget what they're called).
