I found this game a few days ago while googling zombie games, had that sudden urge to kill massive amounts of zombies, you know the feeling. This was exactly what I was looking for and then some, so I wanted to recommend it to any other bored souls out there, as well as ask if anyone here plays, or has played it.

What is The Dead Frontier? It's your basic hack, slash, smash, and shoot zombie killer. You start off by choosing a character from a list of classes, some can provide services, others can produce things, and some are just for role-playing. After you make a character, you're dumped into an outpost, in a city full of undead. You can play the game in single player mode, or multi player. You progress through the game by searching corpses, containers, everything really, finding weapons, ammo, food, and medical supplies. Killing zombies gives you experience, and when you level you get to put points into stats and weapon proficienceis.

And that's basically it. Kill zombies. Find epic lewt. Level up. Lots of fun =D.

Dead Frontier just came out with an Online 3D Demo Version. This version varies slightly from the original in a few aspects. For starters, the graphics look awesome, and animations pretty fluid. Instead of an offline/online version with servers, it is now one global server, allowing you to randomly meet up with fellow survivors in the middle of the city and help them, or, shoot them if PvP is on ; ). There's still plenty of work to be done, but the progress so far makes for some really exciting gameplay. I love finding myself in the middle of the city, having carefully waded through the massive system of zombies without attracting too much attention, looting random vehicles or dead corpses. Then suddenly some idiot runs by with a stampede of zombies at his back, screaming like a lunatic and spraying machine gun bullets every direction, inevitably getting me killed. Good times!

The game provides the same stat system and weapons as the previous, allowing for a plethora of different weapon builds. You could specialize in agility and melee weapons, making your character very speedy and silent, allowing you to get deep into the city where all the best loot is. Or, you could specialize in rifles and critical hits, picking zombies off with one shot easily. Or you could go fall on Machine guns and Accuracy, Spray and Pray with a Gatling Gun!

It's a pretty neat game, if you liked the classic version (which is still playable, btw) then you'll love this, and if you haven't tried either, I'd highly recommend it.
