i'm curious, does the 5 def. take into account the 3 vit that also gives a def giving a total of 6 def? or is it 4 def plus the one from the vit?

Actually it's 4def but due to the 3vit it's automatically 5. And as my Vit has a certain lvl it adds a 6th def. So it's a total of 6def and a total of 19HP.

This doesn't really make sense. You can only get 1 bonus def from this hat, not 2. If, like you say your vit is set up to give you a bonus def when you have +2 vit on your hat, you would still only get 1 bonus def from a hat that gives +3 vit. For instance, say your vit is 1. With +2 vit your vit becomes 3 which gives you the bonus def. With +3 vit your vit is 4 which still only gives you 1 bonus def. If, when you put this hat on, you have an additional 5 def, the hat only gives +4 def as well as the +3 vit. If it gives you an additional 6 def, it is +5 def and +3 vit.
