I see it. Kind of blended in with the thorns, but it's there.

Yup, it's close to the bottom right of the pit there. It's between the first and second layer of gold. Too bad I wasn't able to be home at that time to try and kill it, looks like it would have been fun to kill one in a situation like that. Try to look at the good side of the situation in the fact it wasn't a Slasher or Legendary Sand Blade which had fallen into the pit. :P
